Russia will expand exports to Indonesia
First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced the potential for increasing Russian exports to Indonesia, particularly in metallurgy and the forestry sector. This statement was made during an expanded meeting of the Russian-Indonesian intergovernmental commission.
He emphasized the importance of diversifying the structure of export supplies from Russia to Indonesia, noting positive trends in this direction. Manturov highlighted promising opportunities for expanding exports of metallurgical products.
Mr. Manturov also stated that facilitating access for goods to both countries’ markets would be possible through the anticipated signing of a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Indonesia by the end of 2025.
Additionally, Mr. Manturov outlined plans by Russian logistics companies to develop port infrastructure in the region. Special focus will be placed on establishing efficient container routes and implementing multimodal solutions. Leading Russian logistics operators are considering investment projects aimed at enhancing port infrastructure. Earlier, FESCO announced plans for the first vessel to call at Jakarta port as part of its Vietnam-Malaysia route in April.
