The participants discussed the industry's development prospects.
Oleg Tyurpenko, co-chairman of the committee, suggested introducing additional regulation of the domestic scrap industry, including not increasing quotas for ferrous scrap exports. This measure would support the development of the Russian economy and allow metallurgists to increase their capacity.
Oleg Maslennikov, an expert of the Metallurgy Committee of Business Russia, reported on new approaches to the organization of export logistics of steel products. According to him, in order to cover the markets of South America, the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and Africa, it is necessary to create a regular container line with direct ship calls - from Novorossiysk to Cuba, Venezuela, South Africa, India and Senegal.
