Export of main types of stainless steel products from Russia increased by 20.1%

According to the expert assessment of the Russian Association "Special Steels" (“Spetsstal”), in 2024 the export of main types of stainless steel products from the Russian Federation amounted to 9863 tons (excluding EAEU countries). The volume growth compared to 2023 is 20.1%, relative to 2022 - 9%.

“The structure of stainless steel exports was represented by seamless pipes, whose share in the total volume amounted to 41.3% (in 2023 - 43.6%), flat hot-rolled products - 23.4% (8.3%), primary billets - 20.3% (33.7%), welded pipes - 9.5% (6.2%), flat cold-rolled products - 3% (4.8%), long products - 1.8% (1.8%) and wire - 0.7% (1.5%).

...In 2024, Russian companies exported stainless steel products in the volume of more than 1 ton to 19 countries (in 2023 - to 21 countries). The leading buyers were companies from China, whose share in the total volume amounted to 38.4% (55.8%). This was followed by companies from Uzbekistan with 16.3% (7.8%), Turkey with 12.6% (13.7%), Egypt with 11.9% (2.4%) and India with 9.8% (7.9%). According to the group division, friendly countries accounted for 96.2% (98.9% in 2023) of total exports, while unfriendly countries accounted for 3.8% (1.1%) ” - the association reports.
