Steel market specialists gathered in Tashkent for an international conference

About 120 delegates have registered for the 5th International Conference “Iron & Steel Market of Central Asia and the Caucasus”, which has been opened today in Tashkent (Uzbekistan).

A lot has changed since the first conference in 2018: new metallurgical and metal processing facilities were opened in this region, and many investment projects have been implemented. The region continues to develop actively, becoming a center of attraction for both Chinese and European investors. Speakers of the conference will talk about new investment projects, market capacity and prospects of development of Central Asian markets.

The conference attracted the attention of all leading metal producers from Russia and the region of the event, as well as external players - a large-scale delegation, for example, came from China, including from the leading company BAOSTEEL. Many European equipment manufacturers and technology suppliers are participating in the conference.

Igor Kamynin, Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Uzbekistan, noted in his welcoming remarks that by 2030, supplies of Russian steel products to the Uzbek market will double.

On the second day of the conference the participants will visit Tashkent Metallurgical Plant and Enter Steel Company, where they will get acquainted with the production of coated steels, production of tanks and reactors, large-diameter pipes, and solar panels.
