Russia has sharply increased its coking coal exports to India by nearly 1.7 times
In the past fiscal year - from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025. - Russia increased coking coal supplies to India almost 1.7 times to 8.2 million tons. This is stated in the April review of the Indian analytical company Bigmint.
In total, India bought 57 million tons of coking coal on foreign markets during these 12 months - 0.7% less than a year earlier. Thus, Russia provided 16% of all Indian imports in this nomenclature, according to Bigmint data. The largest supplier to the country was Australia (30.4 million tons), the second place - the United States (8.6 million tons), the third - Russia.
Analysts do not expect similar results in the new fiscal year due to the low profitability of supplies, Vedomosti reported.
