Novostal-M Holding visited India Steel 2025 exhibition and conference

A Russian government delegation headed by Mikhail Yurin and the management of Novostal-M Holding visited India Steel 2025 exhibition and conference. India Steel 2025 is the largest platform where representatives of the steel industry, technology suppliers and partners gather annually. India remains the only country in the world where steel demand is growing at 8-10% annually, while many other countries are facing contraction or stagnation.

Ivan Demchenko, shareholder of Novostal-M Holding Company, was the speaker of the India-Russia round table organized by the Indian Ministry of Steel Industry. In his speech, he noted the huge potential for increasing trade turnover between Russia and India in the steel industry: “Russia and India have significant potential for expanding cooperation. India lacks steelmaking capacity to fully meet its needs. Some major consumers have 14.5 million rolling capacity, while steelmaking capacity is only 9 million. We can multiply the supply of quality semi-finished products with a low carbon footprint - billets and wire rod - from Russia, Vietnam, China and Oman. The willingness to build infrastructure, warehouses and work in rupees opens new horizons to meet the growing demand. It is particularly significant that our countries have articulated their wishes for duty reductions. With duty reduction to the level of 0-5%, we are fully prepared to cover all the needs of the Indian market and strengthen our strategic partnership.”

Novostal-M - participant at ‘SteelStructures ‘2025’ Specialised Exhibition (03-05 June 2025 Moscow, Timiryazev Centre) and the 31st International Industrial Exhibition ‘Metal-Expo’2025’, which will be held on 11-14 November in St. Petersburg (Expoforum).
