Russia sharply increased copper exports to China in March
China's copper imports from the United States fell 1.9 times to $204.8 million in March this year, according to Chinese customs. This was the minimum for bilateral trade since April 2023 and is noticeably less than the average level of purchases for last year (371.9 million dollars, RIA Novosti reported.
The main beneficiary of this decline was Russia, which in March became the second major source of copper for China. Russian exports for the year rose by $495.4 million, or 2.7 times, to $790.9 million. The last time Russia supplied more was in December 2021 ($889.9 million).
