Irkutsk firm builds Russia's biggest concentrator to recover gold from ore

Irkutsk-based Service TechnoProm LLC has built Russia's biggest centrifugal concentrator for the mining industry, the Irkutsk regional government's press service said.

"This equipment is designed to extract gold, platinum and other valuable metals when ores from hardrock deposits are processed. The Irkutsk model's capacity is up to 1,000 tonnes per hour, and there are very few concentrators like it in the world today," the report says, quoting Nikita Kiselev, CEO of Service TechnoProm.

The equipment has been bench-tested and provisionally accepted by the customer, and it will be dismantled next week and shipped to the Magadan Region for commercial testing.

"The company's products substitute imports and are in demand, especially in the Irkutsk Region, which is the country's biggest by gold reserves and one of the top five by production, with the development of the world's largest gold deposit, Sukhoi Log, still to come. Such projects will lower dependence on imports and facilitate the dynamic socio-economic development of the region and the country," said Georgy Kuzmin, deputy head of the regional government, who visited the production site.
