OAO Koks' focusing on modernization and environmental protection

Representatives from the Institute of Coal Chemistry and Chemical Materials Science have joined OAO Koks' scientific and technical council. The decision was made at a meeting between OAO Koks managing director Sergei Diakov and the director of the Institute of Coal Chemistry and Chemical Materials Science of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Zinger Ismagilov. During the meeting, questions regarding the scientists' participation in modernizing and introducing innovative technologies for ensuring environmental safety during production were discussed. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed that the institute's scientists would take part in meetings of OAO Koks' scientific and technical council regarding matters of ensuring environmental safety during production, and decided to create a bilateral working group to develop concrete solutions for high-level processing of coal. The Institute of Coal Chemistry and Chemical Materials Science of the Siberian Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences specializes in such areas as the high-level processing of coal, coal chemistry, kinetics and sorption properties of carbon materials, chemistry of carbon materials, carbon nanostructural fibers, and carbon absorbents and methods for studying them.
