Russian aluminium export reduces, demand rise

According to Federal Customs Service of Russia, export of primary aluminium reached 164.8k tons in January 2011 (18.2% down year-on-year). In terms of money the total aluminium export reachedUSD 297 million as compared to USD 361.8 million in the corresponding period of 2010. Aluminium export to the countries outside the CIS reached 163.2k tons for the total amount of $293.8 million, while aluminium export to the CIS: 1.6k tons for the sum of $3.2 million only.

Most probably, it means that the domestic demand for aluminum has increased and consequently export has reduced.
