UGMK invests in development of SUMZ rub 1 bn
Investment program of UGMK on development of SUMZ (Sredneuralsky Copper Smelter, part of UGMK) will exceed rub 1 bn (approximately $33 ml), said UGMK Director General Andrey Kozitsyn at meeting with employees of the smelter.
Accordingly to Kozitsyn, the majority of the funds will be spent on construction of water purification facilities and system for collecting and transporting of runoffs, which will allow reducing water consumption significantly and launching a modern water recycling system.
In addition Kozitsyn called process of utilization of slags another urgent task. Currently, the question about active using of solid waste products for road construction is explored.
