MMC Norilsk Nickel is pronounced Russian leading foreign trader

MMC Norilsk Nickel was named Best Foreign Trade Leader within the framework of 2009 Customs Olympus Russian contest organized by Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

At the official awards ceremony on October 21, 2009 MMC Norilsk Nickel was granted the Diploma of Honor and the Cup.

The Company has been justly awarded the prize for the second time within this contest. In September MMC Norilsk Nickel was pronounced the winner of the 2009 Customs Olympus regional contest in the category of Foreign Trade Leader in Siberia Federal District.

The 2009 Customs Olympus contest was conducted in order to acknowledge success achieved by foreign traders in international trade and customs activities.

In the first phase of the contest regional customs authorities selected candidates and provided information on first phase winners to Federal Customs Service. In the second phase the contest was held at the national level.

Contest categories were as follows: Russian Foreign Trade Leader; Best Customs Terminal in Russia; Best Customs Broker in Russia; Best Customs Carrier in Russia; Best Customs Integrator in Russia.

Candidates were selected based on their compliance with the following aspects: foreign trade turnover, customs charges and fees paid to the federal budget, growth rate of customs charges and fees paid in 2008, no prosecution for breach of customs legislation in 2008, and use of advanced information technologies such as e-declarations.
