The Russian Federation will increase the capacity of border infrastructure

The Russian Federation is implementing projects aimed at improving international logistics and increasing cargo flows. A number of them are related to the modernization of border checkpoints and increasing the capacity of the network.

“Within the framework of the national project “Efficient Transportation System” checkpoints are being updated on a large scale. By 2030, we will build and reconstruct 27 facilities on key international trade routes. As a result, 2 times more cargo will be able to pass through railway checkpoints, and road checkpoints will allow almost 4 times more traffic,” the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reports.

According to the Russian Ministry of Transport, the throughput capacity of road checkpoints can grow 3.8 times to 18.2 million per year by 2030, and railway checkpoints - to 52.7 million tons.
